\u2026wait, actually, that IDC thing was honestly a pretty reasonable way to balance upstate and NYC within a state machine that was not tied too tightly to national Democratic Party issues while still serving as a fundraising engine for them. While not being able to keep it alive certainly doesn’t earn him full credit, breaking that arrangement will just put further burden on a national party that’s honestly already creaking under the imperative to service the California party.
