Similarly, I do have some actual damage \u2013 that nerve along my nose I wiped out in what was almost certainly a case of muscle coordination breakdown, causing superficial numbness in a lot of the cheek including the inside and some of the gum and maybe palate. It&rsquo;s impressive how the pressure sensitivity of the deeper nerves has increased to maintain an equally full mental sense of my face, though.</p><p>That aside, the tingling working around the inside of my mouth, it this week advanced up to the tip of the tongue and on to the lips \u2013 that&rsquo;s not something in the local nerves themselves, that&rsquo;s maybe that aforementioned system for coordinating signals into a spatial body <i>sense</i>. In any case, it now feels accounted for and trivial.</p>"}
