Huh, and now just like my arms the sensation in my mouth has become easier to parse. Similarly, I do have some actual damage – that nerve along my nose I wiped out in what was almost certainly a case of muscle coordination breakdown, causing superficial numbness in a lot of the cheek including the inside and some of the gum and maybe palate. It’s impressive how the pressure sensitivity of the deeper nerves has increased to maintain an equally full mental sense of my face, though.

That aside, the tingling working around the inside of my mouth, it this week advanced up to the tip of the tongue and on to the lips – that’s not something in the local nerves themselves, that’s maybe that aforementioned system for coordinating signals into a spatial body sense. In any case, it now feels accounted for and trivial.
