Okay, becoming clear that the “I found a new way to walk!” and “I found a new way to see” things came in a context of like, substantial loss of fine muscle memory in the tongue and extremities that set in after and probably related to the month of mental instability and personality change.
I can apparently rebuild it – I’ve gotten a lot steadier on my feet in the last few weeks, which gives me hope my fingers’ll stop feeling like I’m wearing -2 DEX mittens with practice. Don’t normally get that much use out of my voice, maybe I need to start singing along to mp3s at home.
At some level that fits with a Long COVID neurological etiology, but it also throws off the timeline – I was noticing that my binocular vision had broken down to the point of seeing the same object at different focal length from each eye simultaneously on that trip down to LA in 2019, before anyone even heard of Coronavirus.
