Hey, what ever happened with the late 90s "Latin Explosion"? The demographic consequences are obviously still with us, and has as-yet-undetermined political consequences (I doubt they're all going to become NPR liberals, though!) Was it just a manufactured cultural (i.e. marketing) fad, like cigars and swing dancing, doomed to be forgotten in the light of dot-com boom'n'bust/2000 election fracas/9-11?
