There was this multi-trunked tree in the yard that was bent over trying to escape being canopied over by the neighbors’ big tree, sending all these shoots criss-crossing like the stonework of a cathedral ceiling.

That tree falling down knocked a lot of it off but exposed it to sunlight revealing its true form… as a decades-overgrown weed that was just trying to send shoots straight up this whole time. Huh.
