How the fuck are we supposed to reestablish continuity with the '00s once the virus has ruined us all? People in the '00s were naive. They thought they had problems because 9/11 or whatever. Everyone's about to be dead or sterile or scrounging for scraps; all the "contrarians" who think the countermeasures went too far are about to be very rightly demonized. Can't reestablish continuity between a living civilization and a dead one.
