I’m realizing it’s an actual generation gap that I remember the crowd control stuff the Philly police had, off the memory of ‘68 Wilmington, '69 Camden and all the other east coast riots

Cavalry! (Their charges were just for morale breaks – which they basically will do every time against amateurs – police horses aren’t trained to trample.)

Shield walls! (with projectile auxiliaries! Seriously, this was ancient warfare and the next step was the phalanx)
