It’s weird to me that people think of being in the military as this hypermasculine thing that’s Not For Cucks or whatever because like, factually speaking military service demands the most abject kind of total submission to authority of any work I can think of. And a good part of modern military training basically seems to involve abusing people until they’re ok with that, and ok with literally dying at the command of their superiors.
Obviously this is extremely fucked up, but also it is in no way a Manly Self Reliance thing. It’s more like volunteering to let the government trash-compact your body into the human meat sledgehammer they use to bash other governments when they get into a catfight about oil rights or whatever.
What’s that post that’s like a comic “today, I shall daydream about dying meaninglessly in a centuries-old battle” and all the comments are guys chiming in about how they do the same thing?
