It\u2019s truer, and it makes clear that it\u2019s only through our collective will that these rights continue to exist.

Seems good except why not just say \u201cwe will defend these rights\u201d. If someone doesn\u2019t believe you about that they won\u2019t believe you when you say \u201cwe commit to defending these rights\u201d either
