Hm, just heard something blow and my house went dark. We have 3 20 Amp and 3 15 amp plug fuses, the 20 amp powering the fridge is still good but replacing the others one-by-one does nothing, I can’t find the key to Darwin in the dark and my phone has 3%, but I’m charging off my laptop and I have a solar charger when the sun comes up.
- Woke up, found my car keys on the floor in front of the counter where I put them down.
- Went to get plug fuses. Screwing entirely new ones in, and the clock on the microwave blinks for 5 minutes before dying but nothing else.
- Realize one of my daisy-chained boxes also has cylinder fuses.
- Get cylinder fuses, replace.
- Nothing. I resolve to charge my phone off the still-working fridge circuit, sit down to write this post.
- Go to the bathroom, realize the electricity in my room and the kitchen is still on, but not the front room or outdoors.
- Think maybe a surge blew the bulbs, try replacing my porch light.
- Two loud bangs, I look up and smoke is now rising from where the house line passes by the trunk of a tree.
- All power, including the fridge, now out.
- Power company texts to say they’ve detected an outage and are sending a lineman.
So!
Also with the heat off and having taken a few trips, Badger is now curled up on the hood of my truck.
