when I was in LA in the later 2000s and looking into politics there was this blog, “Mayor Sam’s Sister City” where every councilmember’s staff

and let’s interrupt, the classic issue was LA was a “weak mayor, strong council” city where members ran their own fiefdoms like barons and no one cared about how it fit together

but then there was a charter reform after 2000 to fix this except it was simultaneous with Gil Cedillo’s eastside Dem machine getting one over on the westside machine with this mayor Antonio Villarigosa who was a total idiot scrub and pissed it all away

Ok but the thing was there was this totally public blogspot blog and all the staffers who were turned cynical but still cared about anything would comment about what department heads their bosses were having affairs with and none of it mattered

His family name was Villar, but he interfixed Raigosa, his wife when he got elected, but then he was a poonhound and she divorced him but he never changed it
