is it possible to get acute radiation poisoning, in a particular part of your body? like if you blasted someone’s dick and balls with gamma rays would they just melt and fall apart and shit but the rest of them would be fine? that would be wild

radiotherapy for breast cancer can give you lung cancer

They can minimize it by charting the tumor as a point and rotating the radiation source around you along all lines that intersect with that point though, so it gets a full dose but the collateral damage is spread around the body at lower intensity than if the killing dose was applied to every point along the same path though, I thought that was neat
