Yes, I remember listening to my dad’s Wolfe Tones tapes in the car. But feeding Great Britain, thus freeing its land for sheep and its peasants for labor, kicking into the Industrial Revolution, was a more worthy use of Ireland than whatever the Irish would do with it, and while its Catholic Church infrastructure was a big advantage the millennium prior it was by then pointlessly extractive, you see now they’re finally giving it up themselves but they should’ve taken the soup to start with.
