Freudianism is complete horseshit, pop or not. The proper masculine relationship w/ a mother is one of maternal nurturing/caring; excessive attachment is an inherently masculine pathology. This is why it is so prevalent among blacks and mediterraneans, America's most exaggeratedly masculine cultures. Resentment, disdain of the mother is a feminine characteristic (like competition, rivalry b/t father-son is a masculine one), which is why it is so common among jews and homosexuals
