When I was in LA in the later 2000s I moved in proximity to a bunch of lesbians in dance parties, cucumber-cool DJs and fuccbois alike, The L Word wasn’t lying there, really was a sharp-edged WeHo-based lesbian scene going, there were these like 30 newsie tomboys that dominated bookings at the hot clubs, Samantha Ronson was one of them, another of them drove a car into a wall directly across the street from where I was staying in Echo Park.

And I’m hearing that the genderfluid era is completely decimating lesbian identity and culture, and I wonder how that scene is doing
