I know you are alluding to, well, Japan, but I can’t help but think of the stereotype that “black people love Dragon Ball”.

That stereotype is a decade or two out of date. By now, it’s that black and latino people love Dragon Ball and Naruto

(I do wonder how similar this is to Wu-Tang getting into kung fu movies because they were around on TV)
