one last thing i’d like to add! i originally said that Amharic is also considered to be a holy language for rastafarians. please disregard that point, as I have since learned that many rastafarians romanticize a man (Haile Selassie) who maintained a policy of genocide against the Oromo people of Ethiopia. i deeply apologize for my ignorance and for contributing to that romanticization
