the freeway speed limit here is mostly 100km/h, which seems more reasonable than that 55mph madness, but creeping bureaucracy has led to the streets of Melbourne being finely subdivided into every single speed limit from 30km/h to 110km/h in 10km/h increments, which is absurd and a blatant excuse for speed camera traps.

in practice of course everyone drives at the same speed as prevailing traffic, which is typically speed limit + five to ten.
