So on Saturday I was cutting a branch with a handsaw, and I guess I crossed from live wood it bit deep into across to some dry & hard dead wood it slipped off, cause the serrated blade skittered and cut deep into the backs of my left thumb and index finger

It hurt a lot, I ran inside and once I had stood in front of the kitchen sink long enough alternating raising the hand above my head to cut pressure and dipping it down into the stream to rinse off all the blood, it was one of those bad wounds that doesn’t make it to the tendons but still looks like a mass of pink fleshy worms

And across the knuckles too, how was I gonna bandage that? Luckily, I realized I had some gauze and medical tape, so I washed the wounds, poured rubbing alcohol to disinfect, rubbed in zinc/sulfate antibiotic cream, and wrapped them up.

Repeated and replaced after the bandages were bloodied after 2 hours, then 4 hours, then 6, then overnight and twice the next day

And I have never seen a wound heal this fast. It’s closed more than untreated superficial scratches would have at this point. The cleaning, the antibiotic, the wrap to keep it dry and protected – that shit makes a big difference, huh?
