I hate how people are acting like the police union came from space and they cannot comprehend why you would ever talk about not liking other unions, all unions are good, except for the police union which is from space

like “the traits that police unions have that make them very bad are traits many other unions have, they just don’t have the same opportunity to cause damage on as wide of a scale, but it’s still negative to deal with and people don’t like that, maybe remember this idea when people talk about not being 100 pro-union“ shouldn’t be difficult to parse

but we just get “why would you ever not like everything about unions you are a bootlicker” in response

Taboo the word “union” and just look at the net effects. Increasing the bargaining power of labor relative to capital is good. Shielding murderers from accountability and subverting elected authority is bad. No contradiction or hypocrisy there.

This is correct.  Many other unions attempt to protect their members from being fired, but literally none of them except the police attempt to defend their members for committing violent felonies on the job.

Teachers unions? Historically, longshoremen? Mafia-controlled unions?
