it’s such an obvious attempt to conjure a bogeyman that is simultaneously threatening but also like, gay; although putting it that way makes me wonder why they didn’t reach straight for Mad Max and have antifa show up driving supercharged hotrods in leather fetish wear

in fairness “suddenly show up in a small American town en masse and cause a ruckus” is something outlaw bikers and to an extent hippies used to actually do fairly recently, in fact proud local history in Forks that probably has a lot to do with this is a bunch of loggers arming up with their equipment to chase a bunch of bikers out of town

Like I also find it hilariously underplayed that this is the Twilight town we’re talking about
