My general take is these “uprisings” are the equivalent of the 1935 Business Plot, left/right valences reversed

Not that it’s arranged by shadowy powerful figures like Soros, that’s dumb. Grassroots riots are an authentic left form like rich conference tables are right.

But that it’s a back-to-the-wall lashing-out by an old order that realizes whatever it does the new order’s never going to feel obligated to respect the principles they took for granted.
