Not saying this is how it is, but every time you complain about not having a "tougher" childhood, it reads like sour grapes. "Oh, if only circumstances had forced me into such and such a situation, then that hypothetical version of myself could have risen to the challenge and incidentally fulfill some lack my current self is feeling."
