When Mental-Health Experts, Not Police, Are the First Responders

Reminder that America used to have dedicated professionals with mental health training as frontline \u201cfirst responders\u201d. Those were the \u201cmen in white coats\u201d (the ones coming to take you away, haha).

And I\u2019ve seen this play before, next thing supporters will say \u201coh, for this program to really work we need the field agents backed by dedicated facilities adequately funded to have open beds for crisis admissions\u201d

And we used to have those, too, that\u2019s what sanitariums and insane asylums were!
