So ever since I picked it up (from the ALF cartoon!), I’ve always been a huge fan of cracking my joints – I could reliably get 3 out of each finger, 2 out of each toe, the wrists, knees, hips. The whole range of the spine, sometimes the sternum and clavicles with the right tension.

Things that aren’t even joints - I could get each ear two ways, since I rolled over in bed with an adolescent boner the penis – I’ve only ever seen that attested as an Afghan practice to kill an erection, and it can’t be healthy so I stopped.

Anyway, since when I went to the dojo and first developed any firm muscle my spine and other load-bearing joints only become “eligible” like 1/3 as often, which makes me wonder if they used to be bearing more pressure in the synovial fluid before my muscles did as much work at keeping my body aligned under gravity
