Writing is nice, but I&rsquo;m not going to meet anyone new on my bedroom floor, you know.</p>\n<p>People have suggested going for bartender or bouncer and that would probably be well suited to both me and Portland, but when I was 14 or so and angry at institutional adultness and adult institutions I pledged to myself that I would never take on the duty of rejecting people for being too young, and I think of myself as someone who keeps the promises my younger self made</p>\n<p>I made it a somewhat similar, minor but still ridiculous point of pride that I never have or will read Catcher In The Rye, though I&rsquo;ve composed (and received good marks on) essays about it on secondhand exposure alone.</p>"}
