Just realizing how pretty much every single part of a (Cessna 15X) preflight inspection that was successfully beat into my head – make sure the pitot tubes are clear, make sure the fuel tanks are sediment-clear, make sure every control surface moves with appropriate reflex/resistance and the lines aren’t about to snap from rust, make sure the prop still exists – was basically a “take her out of storage” drill

I guess the pre-takeoff magneto check (the engine basically had two redundant spark plugs and you checked them by pulling the fuse on each and noticing the drop in power at full throttle while the other kept firing) was still relevant for an active plane
