The old Batman comics could be so weird. After a while, every comic gets weird—Archie, Dick Tracy, Star Wars, Thor, whatever—but Batman seemed to be aiming for a world record. Even Superman never travelled that far into the Weird Zone. It was as if kids were providing the stories.
The one with The Beatles used to be a running joke between me and my brother. Whenever we saw a pic of The Beatles, we used to say, “One of them is DEAD… but which one?” But after George Harrison died the joke wasn’t funny anymore.
