And so with this all revealed again, they have to resolve the crisis of their personal and national identities. Which involves Elsa having to intervene in Anna’s plan to blow up a dam, here the legacy mechanism that keeps this power relation in place, even though the resulting wave will wipe out the kingdom.

(She blows up the dam but Elsa freezes the wave before it really hits, meaning the dynamic is undone and the subalterns are freed to thrive going forward, but the glory of the kingdom built on that relation is left intact.)
