w/r/t the Shane Gillis thing, Nick Mullen broke character to say “you wokesters should be terrified, that they wanted a conservative star in the first place shows that you were a market bubble and the market’s starting to correct itself” and he’s right

I think Bob’s Burgers was aiming at this same non-elite target, but “starting a workaday small business in the city with apartments over workplaces” and other details don’t resonate for unmarked ‘Merican whites (I headcanon them as Armenian or some other ex-Soviet immigrant to make it work)

But no, Bless the Harts gets details right.

And it’s not even terribly original even in terms of adult animation! “Jesus is a recurring character” is South Park, Violet is basically Daria (spun off from Mike Judge’s Texas white trash “Beavis & Butthead”, BtH is implied in the same Texas as KotH via Mega Lo Mart), Jenny is basically Luann from KotH not as a punchline…

Wait, Jenny is Violet’s mom? I saw it on mute in bars and thought they were sisters. One more way they got details right.
