Coming back from LA in July I stopped in a Wal-Mart to pick something up and got roped into a midway barker-style demonstration, this stuff is just very good at not only cleaning but stain removal from a variety of surfaces with very little elbow grease. Non-damaging, even awfully “green” to hear them tell it.

\n
And the weird thing about “very little elbow grease” is that it seems to work on a different mechanism than other cleaners. Rather than working as a solvent or oxidizer to break up the stain material, it just lifts it from the underlying surface.

Like in the demo she had someone put permanent marker on tile, and people rubbed it but didn’t even smudge it, and then she sprayed the tile and wrist-flicked it against the table and the ink just slid off. Spray-painted wood she let sit for 15 seconds and wiped off like it was dust.

I don’t know the official mechanism, but my guess is it’s preferentially bonding with the underlying material and then evaporating, and then the stain doesn’t re-set for the same reason that putting dry paint chips on a table won’t stain.
"}
