Yeah, that one time I took Lexapro, I got mild visual hallucinations for the first 36 hours or so, pictures on the wall and in the newspaper were moving a bit like Harry Potter. I was just thinking, good thing I\u2019ve taken hallucinogens before so I can just recognize it so I don\u2019t freak out, just like \u201coh, visual hallucinations, that\u2019s an interesting symptom\u201d.

No, that\u2019s the explicit point, I haven\u2019t learned any lessons from this I can pass on. Like, \u201cput yourself in mortal danger and then survive, that\u2019ll clear your depression right up?\u201d That\u2019s… well, I guess Ernst J\u00fcnger rendered that as self-help, but it doesn\u2019t seem very practical.
