I’m remembering that right, because it was hilarious.
Yeah, that one time I took Lexapro, I got mild visual hallucinations for the first 36 hours or so, pictures on the wall and in the newspaper were moving a bit like Harry Potter. I was just thinking, good thing I’ve taken hallucinogens before so I can just recognize it so I don’t freak out, just like “oh, visual hallucinations, that’s an interesting symptom”.

No, that’s the explicit point, I haven’t learned any lessons from this I can pass on. Like, “put yourself in mortal danger and then survive, that’ll clear your depression right up?” That’s… well, I guess Ernst Jünger rendered that as self-help, but it doesn’t seem very practical.
