Out of curiosity, what age is your first memory from?

Mine is a dream from when I was 3. I have things that seem like vague recollections of the house I lived in from my first year of life, but other factors lead me to suspect they were confabulated.

I was 3, my parents took me on a trip to Hilton Head Island. We went into some sort of bakery, I remember it was a few steps up from street level in a narrow converted house with a striped awning.

The door was on the left side of the narrow floor, the clerks were on the right side with a glass counter between us that went deep into the room. While my parents were ordering I wandered and noticed at the far end on the lower counter under the glass was a green? box with the checkerboard Ralston-Purina logo.

“Is this pet food?” I asked and the woman behind the counter was surprised I made the connection
