Hypothesis: 4chan ethos, rather than being aristocratic conservatism, is actually aristocratic *radicalism*; i.e. it is the authentic inheritor of English romanticism, via the birth of the old guard nerd culture that it represents from D&D and thus the literary traditions of high fantasy and gothic horror.
