I know a guy in college who tried to write a David Foster Wallace-inspired novel as his senior thesis while constantly taking adderall and smoking weed and had a few psychotic breaks and was involuntarily committed when he turned in like a 600 page manuscript with a plot driven by transparent threats to the penis with almost every page covered in handwritten cross-referencing footnotes

Also I think he invented a numerology system where he and some of us and some of his writer-icons and historical figures corresponded to things. Anyway that’s what I’m talking about when I talk about going overboard in crystalline mode.
