Like, you realize the long-term take of the American, and Democratic establishments is that the Nixon thing was a failure, that at the party and national level it wasn’t a reclaiming but a dissipation of power, along with the Watergate Babies and the new primary system it was just handing the keys over to the rabble, degrading their ability to act in any coherent way
