{"version": "1.0", "type": "rich", "title": "I think I finally got the hang of the scythe\nThe instructional stuff I read (and watched) was all \u201cdon\u2019t use your arms to move...", "author_name": "kontextmaschine", "author_url": "https://kontextmaschine.com", "provider_name": "kontextmaschine", "provider_url": "https://kontextmaschine.com", "url": "https://kontextmaschine.com/post/185029027458/", "html": "<p>I think I finally got the hang of <a href=\"/post/160387687743/\" target=\"_blank\">the scythe</a></p><p>The instructional stuff I read (and watched) was all \u201cdon\u2019t use your arms to move it, hold them straight and pivot at the hips!\u201d</p><p>And for a while I was trying to do that and it just exhausted my arms and didn\u2019t have that great control anyway</p><p>And I think the thing was to start your rotation at the core but don\u2019t treat the arms as solid spokes but heavy ropes with their own inertia and let them whip around to follow the core</p><p>Now that I\u2019ve got the rhythm honestly I\u2019m thinking of <a href=\"https://t.umblr.com/redirect?z=https%3A%2F%2Fscythesupply.com%2Fblades.html&amp;t=OGJlYmI5NGM3ZWY1NzczZTQ4YWQwYmQzZGFjMjM1ZjJhYzEzZjNmNyxhZTQ0MTM0NGQ5MDg1ZmUyMTgzODJmNGVmZTIzNDllZjc5MTJkZTIx\" target=\"_blank\">upgrading</a> from a 24\u2033 to a 32\u2033 grass blade or maybe at least a 28\u2033 heavy blade, there\u2019s one part of the side yard that\u2019s a thick enough grass species I have to make a few hacks at it at cutting length</p>"}
