Like, the way that there’s like this almost complete mediation between our current adult parts of ourselves and the younger/past selves thru the experience of the Brand, and that’s kinda terrifying really! It’s not surprising in an age where like pop culture media comprises so much of our shared experiences, and it is only becoming moreso as specific media conglomerates becomes more diffused within every aspect of our lives. Like, I find it really illuminating how much of like age r*gression stuff is like filtered thru the experience of the Disney Brand, and like that’s a specific manifestation of nostalgia culture at large (like, adult women wearing Minnie Mouse branded whatever, or imposing it on their children), and there’s something so strange abt like locating one’s access to those parts of oneself thru specific corporations, where like the participation in the corporate media as defined by the corporation is the way of like participating in a certain age!

Proust’s Man-At-Arms
"}
