He had a higher platform than say Boosie or Mozzy because he was in LA and dating an actress well known in black media, but there’s zero reason for a white guy in Portland to know him unless you’re very into rap music
so like, what he represented that’s so meaningful was that “from the
community/to the community” potential of rap that gets mythologized so
much in opposition to the whole mass media corporate business angle?
