so I have a JLPT certificate (second-level of four, in the old four-level system) from the Japanese State Department

and I think maybe I searched something about the embassy b/c a long-term dream of mine is to build a hot springs ryokan in America

And so I started seeing like “The Japan-America Society of Oregon” in Facebook ads telling me about some kind of monthly outing so I was like “not now but I’ll click like to follow the group and see their other events”

And now regularly on my feed are like, clips of an upcoming speaker on why America NEEDS an agriculture agreement with Japan

And I’m like wait, am I getting cultivated as an apparatus of a foreign power on Facebook, is that how this works now? Because that’s pretty close to how it traditionally works!

And what do you do with that
