this is not the most important transportation challenge facing America, but I just saw that Duke University effectively vetoed a light-rail line running along its campus

and it made me think: if they ever really go for deautomotovizing the US, woo the first time they try reactivating one of those gentry-bait right-of-way bike/jog/hike path/riverwalks as an active train corridor
