it\u2019s based off a close parallel between \u201clet\u2019s\u201d and the \u201c-masyoo\u201d ending as a way to give a friendly command, like \u201cike\u201d/\u201cGo!\u201d matches to \u201cikimasyoo\u201d/\u201clet\u2019s go!\u201d pretty cleanly

The problem is helping verbs, \u201clet\u2019s go bowling!\u201d would work, and \u201clet\u2019s do brunch!\u201d\u2019would work but it\u2019s not at all obvious to foreigners that \u201cgo\u201d matches \u201cbowling\u201d and \u201cdo\u201d matches \u201cbrunch\u201d

(or that \u201cdo\u201d matches \u201cdinner\u201d but \u201cgo\u201d matches \u201cdinner hopping\u201d)
