i will never get over how the word “let’s” is used in japan
this is the best to me
it’s based off a close parallel between “let’s” and the “-masyoo” ending as a way to give a friendly command, like “ike”/“Go!” matches to “ikimasyoo”/“let’s go!” pretty cleanly
The problem is helping verbs, “let’s go bowling!” would work, and “let’s do brunch!”’would work but it’s not at all obvious to foreigners that “go” matches “bowling” and “do” matches “brunch”
(or that “do” matches “dinner” but “go” matches “dinner hopping”)
