Understanding it in its complexity maybe but I didn\u2019t really want 1997 Phillip Roth prechewing my analysis tbh so</li><li>why the fuck weren\u2019t we reading <a href=\"http://www.powells.com/book/-9780679756453\" target=\"_blank\">Portnoy\u2019s Complaint</a>?</li></ol><p>At the end we were reading <a href=\"http://www.powells.com/book/-9780306824265\" target=\"_blank\">Iron John</a> and he was insisting that Robert Bly\u2019s \u201cmen\u2019s movement\u201d was rillly important you guise and we just looked at each other and shrugged</p><p>I mean even then I coulda given you something off the top of my head on Promise Keepers, the Million Man March, purity balls, \u201clad magazines\u201d, or Faludi\u2019s <a href=\"http://www.powells.com/book/-9780385425070\" target=\"_blank\">Backlash</a>, but my only real context for <i>that</i> shit was secondhand mockery on a Beavis and Butthead plot<br/></p>"}
