@swampgallows, this really got me seeing the “toytown” era of happy hardcore as a lot more continuous with mainstream British pop than I’d realized (and given some of the reggae stuff, jungle too)

Just saw someone I was like “wait is that Robert Smith or the Tom Baker Dr. Who” and now I’m pretty sure it was Siouxie Sioux, this is honestly pretty great

now it’s Chrissie Hynde looking like Amy Winehouse in pale lipstick and a harlequin sweater, honestly all of this makes British pop make so much more sense
