I was going to say “it’s early-mid 10s internet culture that’s going to last a while longer” but really, it’s more or less early 00s Something Awful culture that lasted into the 10s and happened to get into the national spotlight from there. 

(4chan is the same thing of course, but its inherent anonymity will always keep it more nebulous.)

So yeah. It’ll last a while longer, but the best analogies to it and 4chan are other comedy fads like The Simpsons and South Park, brands that were very much youthful zeitgeist products of their time but wound up lasting for decades on end and aged into comforting nostalgia institutions for the age cohorts that first enjoyed them.
