do you call people from latin america latins, this is a serious question i need the answer to

is Latin America basically everything except USA, Canada, Belize, Suriname, and Guyana? because boy does that feel like an unnatural category.

I’m used to it being anything but the US, Canada, and the British Carribean; Belize, Suriname, Guyana, and France being lumped in there too.
