A bit in passing, in talking about Scientology. I\u2019ve got some secondhand knowledge of that era and where it came from and some personal experience of it ambient in web 1.0 culture (I mean, part of it was even non-net American culture was having a cheesy-pagan chic moment in the \u201890s, which is maybe best explained as a stage in the shrugging-off of Christianity), but I\u2019m not really confident about putting it into an integrated whole.

If you\u2019re interested in this kind of stuff wouldn\u2019t be the worst idea to look through @frankfurtschooldropout\u2018s back stuff, especially the \u201ccalifornia ideology\u201d tag, and follow through on that, though he\u2019s mostly focusing at how all these ideas floating around out there served as a legitimating bridge between the Spirit of \u201868 and neoliberalism.
